Benefits of Choosing a Career in the Music Education

In Lawson's Music Education program, students learn the fundamentals of music and music education while earning credits in their general core classes. Students have the opportunity to participate in vocal and instrumental ensembles and receive personalized instruction.  Students are given multiple performance opportunities on campus and in the community. Students also are exposed to industry professionals and networking platforms to gain internship and professional development.  These skills and experiences will equip with an array of learning opportunities that will enable you to continue your music education and transfer to a four-year college to complete your Education degree.

Our Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate and Science (AS) two-year degrees range from 60 to 64 transferable credits.  That means that once you graduate from Lawson State, you will be able to enter your four-year college of choice as a junior and secure a 4-year degree. To  increase your earning power, many Arts and Humanities students continue their education and get their Masters degrees and doctorate degrees in the select career pathways.

All Arts and Humanities AA and AS degrees are backed and protected by Alabama Transfers (Learn More).
