Student Resources

Login to your MyLawson account to Add and Drop a class.  Access your Student Portal.  Go to Registration and access your schedule.  From there, add classes and drop as needed.  

NOTE:  Students attempting to Add/Drop classes after the Add/Drop period ends, will not be able to do so.

Lawson State offers free and inexpensive textbook options for its students. One such option is Cengage Unlimited.

How Cengage Works:  Students pay a one-time subscription fee for either 1-year access (for $214.99) or 4 months access ($139.99) and gain viewing rights to all the textbooks in Cengage's full inventory.  See the listing of classes (at Lawson) that use Cengage Unlimited textbooks to determine if the subscription price would be cost savings for you.  What this means?  This means that, depending on the classes you are enrolled in, you could pay one fee but gain access to a lot of your textbooks needed for the term/year. 

Lawson State has over 65 participating classes that use Cengage textbooks (see below), so review the listing below to see if a Cengage Unlimited.

Final Exam Schedule

Purpose

To support equitable access to technology, Lawson State Community College provides a Laptop Loaner Program for students who lack personal computing devices necessary for academic success.

Procedure

  1. Application Submission: Students submit an application.
  2. Review: Student Services and Business Office reviews applications and verifies eligibility.
  3. Device Issuance: Library staff assigns a device to students via a software system. Student completes checkout at smart locker.
  4. Support: Tech support is available through the IT Help Desk.
  5. Return: Students return the device by the last academic day of the semester.
  6. Non-Compliance: Unreturned, lost, or damaged laptops will result in a hold on student records and possible replacement charges.

Eligible students must:

  • Be currently enrolled full-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate program.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Lack access to a personal laptop or reliable device.
  • Agree to the terms of the Laptop Loaner Program Agreement.

Loan Terms

  • Loan duration: Semester-based.
  • All devices must be returned in working condition by the due date.
  • Students must sign a Loan Agreement outlining responsibilities and liabilities.
  • Devices are preconfigured with necessary academic software and security features.
