English and Communicatons are two of the most versatile areas of study because they can prepare students for many career options. Developing your oral and written skills can set you on a pathway to success in a variety of industries. Those who can speak and write well can be irreplaceable in the workforce. An English or Communications degree can lead to various career pathways including serving as an editor, teacher or professor, publisher, grant writer, technical writer, screenwriter, journalist, public speaking, politician, social media manager, or a marketing or public relations specialist. It can also prepare students for law school and other professional schools. The Associate of Arts (AA) is a two-year degree requiring 60 to 64 transferable credits.
