Transfer Scholarships

Athens State University

Athens State University is thrilled to announce an exciting new opportunity for students planning to major in STEM programs - The ASSIST Scholarship Program.

Through ASSIST, students could receive scholarships for tuition, books, housing, or transportation. In addition, ASSIST will also provide various additional methods of support and resources to help STEM majors succeed.

 

Jacksonville State University

Beginning in Fall 2025, Jacksonville State University is proud to announce our Presidential Transfer Leadership Scholarship available to one (1) student at each of our ACCS partner institutions. This is a competitive, full-tuition scholarship available to an outstanding student nominated by your college's administration. We are excited to add this scholarship to our expansive list of transfer scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year!

The requirements of Jax State's Presidential Transfer Leadership Scholarship are as follows:
  • 3.5 transfer GPA (calculated by Jax State)
  • 45+ transferable hours earned at an ACCS institution (calculated by Jax State)
  • Be classified at Jax State as a First-Time Transfer student for admission and scholarship purposes. This means that a student cannot have previously attended Jax State as a degree-seeking student. Students who previously enrolled at Jax State only as a dual enrollment, concurrent enrollment (Transfer Prep), or non-degree/transient student may be considered.
  • Be in good academic and disciplinary standing at the community college and at Jax State, if such history exists.
  • Have demonstrated ability to balance academic achievement with at least one of the following areas: campus involvement, community involvement/volunteerism, family responsibilities, scholarly achievements, or work/professional responsibilities.
  • Commitment to serve as a Transfer Student Mentor (TSM) during the first year at Jacksonville State. Transfer Student Mentors will serve as a recruitment and enrollment resource to prospective transfer students from their former community college upon their enrollment at Jax State. In the second year, recipients may either continue as a TSM or choose another campus group to continue their involvement.

Troy University

Troy University is proud to offer and award the Transfer Presidential Scholarship to the most commendable transfer students from the Alabama Community College System. This scholarship will allow each community college president in the state of Alabama to select one student to receive a $12,000 per academic year tuition-only scholarship for two years, excluding summer. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other scholarship or tuition assistance awarded by Troy University.

In order to apply, the student must meet the following criteria:
  1. Each student must be an Alabama resident
  2. Have completed at least 45 transferable credit hours with a minimum GPA of 3.5
  3. The student must maintain full-time enrollment status and an institutional (TROY) GPA of 3.0.

The University of Alabama

The Alabama Advantage Scholarship is a need-based scholarship offered to eligible in-state transfer students. This scholarship opportunity reflects The University of Alabama's commitment to advancing the education and careers of students in Alabama by removing financial barriers.

As a trusted source for college guidance and information, UA wants to empower you to share this significant scholarship opportunity with students. Students can learn more by visiting the Alabama Advantage webpage. We appreciate your hard work and assistance in making sure students are aware of this opportunity!

After scholarships and grants have been applied, Alabama Advantage funds up to $5,000 needed to cover the remaining cost of UA's in-state tuition. The scholarship is renewable so long as the student remains eligible.

To qualify for Alabama Advantage, a student planning to transfer in the summer or fall must:
  • Be an alabama resident
  • Submit your application and all supporting documents by March 2 to maximize scholarship opportunities.
  • Complete the FAFSA and be eligible for a pell grant.
  • Submit all financial package requirements and receive financial aid award by May 1.
  • Enroll full-time with at least 12-credit hours per semester.
    • Maintain a 2.0 cumulative UA GPA, and earn at least a cumulative 67% of the total UA credit hours attempted.

UA Transfer Presidential Scholarship

The University of Alabama Presidential Scholarship covers four semesters of tuition as long as you meet UA’s stewardship requirements. This is an incredible chance to continue your education with major financial support!

To be consider you must:
  • Have submitted your LSCC graduation application through MyLawson account.
  • Submit all UA application materials by March 2, 2026.
  • Have earned at least 45 transferable credit hours towards your associate degree.
  • Have a 3.5 or higher cumulative transferable GPA by the end of the Fall 2025.
  • Important: Students who have attended another 4-year institution after high school or who were previously degree-seeking students at UA are not eligible.
Note: Scholarship value may adjust if tuition changes.

Ready to apply?
  1. An unofficial/student transcript.
  2. A resume (activities, work experience, etc.)
  3. A biographical letter describing your educational goals and why you'd a great fit for this scholarship.
  4. Your Date of Birth and UA Campus Wide ID.

UAB Transfer Presidential Scholarship

The University of Alabama at Birmingham proudly offers the Transfer Presidential Scholarship a competitive award for high-achieving students transferring from an Alabama Community College.

Scholarship Award
  • $6,250 per semester for 4 semesters
  • $12,500 annually (fall & spring semesters only)
  • Not stackable with other transfer merit scholarships

Eligibility
  • Current enrollment at an Alabama community college
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Meet one of the following by Feb. 17, 2026:
    • 3.45+ transferable GPA => 48+ credit hours
    • 3.70+ transferable GPA => 42-47 credit hours
Who Is Not Eligible? High school seniors, former UAB students, students with a bachelor's degree, certificate-only or part-time program students, and students with credit from a 4-year college (unless earned in high school) are not eligible.

Application Requirements - Due February 17, 2026
  • Complete 2026-2027 BSMART Application (including "Transfer Presidential Questions")
  • Upload resume and at least 1 letter of recommendation
  • Submit official transcript with Fall 2025 grades
Selection process: After reviewing applications, the UAB Scholarship Committee will invite select candidates for an interview. Awards are based on a holistic review of the candidate's transcript, BSMART Application, and interview review of transcript, application, and interview.

Scholarship Expectations
  • Enroll full-time at UAB in Fall 2026 (minimum 12 credit hours)
  • Join the UAB Transfer Student Organization
  • Participate in admissions recruitment events as a Transfer Presidential Scholar
