February Marks Financial Aid Awareness Month at Lawson State

Lawson State Community College is shining a spotlight on student success throughout February as it celebrates Financial Aid Awareness Month. This year's theme, "Investing in Our Students Every Step of the Way," emphasizes the college's commitment to empowering students with the knowledge and resources needed to navigate their Lawson State financial aid journey.

"These touchpoints allow us to interact with students in ways that leave them feeling educated and empowered about financial aid," said Cassandra Hollins, the college's director of financial aid.

"We want to champion informed decision-making and strengthen their sense of financial readiness," she said. "These types of efforts are meant to reinforce a strong foundation for academic success all part of our ongoing commitment to our students."

Each Wednesday, the Bessemer and Birmingham campuses will offer weekly Money Matters pop‑up tables, giving students convenient opportunities to ask questions, get personalized guidance, and explore available financial aid tools.

Each pop-up event features a dedicated topic designed to support students as they work through financial aid requirements and the application process.
