In this season of giving, we are grateful for so much at Lawson State, including a recent $7,000 donation from HBCU Cares. The donation will directly benefit our Career and Transfer Services office.
"The best thing about having these resources is that it fuels our ability to engage with students and connect them with business and industry, and to ensure they are successful beyond their time here at Lawson State," said Akilh Haley, career services and college transfer coordinator.
HBCU Cares is great at what it aims to do: unite historically Black colleges, community colleges and universities to strengthen institutions, students, alumni and communities. At the same time, they provide funding and programming to expand career services and create opportunities for students and faculty. That's on top of being focused on research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and workforce development.
