Lawson State Community College continues to strengthen its partnership with Birmingham Promise while helping local students take meaningful steps toward college and career success.

The college's commitment was evident at the recent Birmingham Promise Scholarship Orientation in downtown Birmingham.

The March 17 event brought together more than 160 students and parents from across Birmingham City Schools, all seeking information on how to access and maximize the Birmingham Promise scholarship. The program remains an important pathway for students at Lawson State and at other institutions as they pursue affordable, high-quality higher education.

Enrollment Specialist Adonis Bozeman represented Lawson State, connecting with high school seniors to share information about academic programs, the admissions process, and the many pathways available to support their goals. Conversations throughout the event reflected strong interest in flexible options that align with both career and transfer opportunities.

"Events like this highlight the strength of our partnership with Birmingham Promise and our shared commitment to student access," said Joyce Jones, director of admissions at Lawson State. "We are proud to help students take the next step toward their educational and career aspirations."
