Lawson State Community College Choir students, many of whom are new to the choral program, recently attended the annual Alabama Collegiate Choral Festival, which was hosted this year by Samford University.
"This was a valuable opportunity for student singers to observe and engage with high-caliber choral programs," said Mr. Bruce Henderson, director of the LSCC choir.
"Participation in this event broadened students' musical perspectives, enhanced their vocal and ensemble techniques, and inspired them to strive for continued excellence within our own program," he said.
The ACDA Collegiate Festival is an annual event that brings together outstanding collegiate choirs from across the state of Alabama. Each year, approximately 10-15 collegiate ensembles showcase their artistry and dedication to the choral arts.
The festival also gave Lawson students exposure to diverse choral styles and collegiate standards, reinforcing the importance of discipline, musicianship, and collaboration.
"These are key skills that will strengthen both their academic and performance success at Lawson State and beyond," said Mr. Henderson.
