To All Lawson Students:

Welcome to the Fall Term Students!  We are so happy you have selected Lawson State to continue your education.

Follow these tips to have a successful start to the fall term.

Tip 1:  Login MyLawson to view your schedule and schedule details.

Tip 2:  Determine what types of classes you registered for:  Ground, Online, Virtual or Online.

Tip 3:  If you do not understand the difference between the types of classes we offer and what you are required to do as a student to access each class, watch this quick video.

Tip 4:  If you need help with registering for classes online, watch this Registration Tutorial

Tip 5:  If you were notified that one of your classes was cancelled, login MyLawson  and register for a different section of that same class.

Tip 6:  If you still need help with course selection, come to campus for advisement (face-to-face) today (report to the SPACE Center for help on either campus if you are a new student) or schedule a virtual advising appointment today if you are a returning student.  Click here to schedule.  Virtual appointments can take place today.

Tip 7:  Attend all of your classes Week 1 and establish your attendance by completing the first assignment given. If you are still working on your Financial Aid, that is fine, you can still attend your classes.

Tip 8:  Secure your textbooks for all of your classes. You can come to campus or order textbooks online. If your Pell Grant has been approved, you should be able to secure your books.

Tip 9:  Understand that if you do not establish your attendance (by completing your Week1 assignment), you will be dropped from your classes.

Tip 10:  Login Blackboard to view your courses and begin any and all Week 1 assignments.

Tip 11:  Complete the steps to either pay for your tuition or apply your Pell Grant funds to cover your tuition. Click here for more information on that process.

Tip 12:  Email your instructor (in Blackboard) if you have questions about any class.

Tip 13:  Call the Help Desk if you have a question at 205-929-2000.

Tip 14:  Or, email us at help@lawsonstate.edu

Tip 15:  When in doubt, ask.  Remember, we are here to help you in anyway we can.

Again, have a great semester.
