The process of starting a
business can often be confusing. For this reason, the Dr.
Perry W. Ward Advanced Technology Building's Small Business
Development Center (SBDC) has been established as an integral part of the community
outreach provided by Lawson State Community College. The SBDC
provides assistance to both existing small business owners and those
thinking about starting a business. Assistance from the SBDC
entails free confidential consulting to entrepreneurs, and
low-priced workshops in the areas of grant writing, home-base
businesses, non-profit businesses, business plans, office
management, basic tax information, word processing, databases,
spreadsheet, slideshows, payroll, advertising, real estate, web
sites, etc., have been devised to enrich small businesses to grow
profitably and proficiently to accomplish set goals.
Services are available from
8:30 – 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday; and workshops are available from
4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. weekly. The workshops are geared to the
small business community. Please feel free to contact
Dr. Alice Tyler Milton (205-929-6306) or
Mrs. Eula Todd (205-929-6351) for more information.
