Effective Business Letters Cost: $50 Time: 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Days Offered Each Week: Wednesday and/or Friday (1-day Workshop) The standard of your businesses written correspondence plays a huge part in the image that your business portrays. Getting it WRONG can lead to creating an undesired image with your clients. Getting it RIGHT can increase your credibility as a business with your customers. This seminar covers the basics of effective business letters that will bring credibility to your business.

How to Write a Business Plan Cost: $50 Time: 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Days Offered Each Week: Wednesday and/or Friday (1-day Workshop) A Business plan is vital to a business success--regardless of the business size or scope. The Plan gives structure to your business, describes the product/services and provides and analysis of the economic viability. This seminar covers the basics of business plan development, using formats acceptable to the SBA and other lending institutions. The mission statement, objectives, target market identification, marketing plan, management structure, and financial data will be covered.

How to Start a Business Cost: $50 Time: 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Days Offered Each Week: Tuesday and/or Friday (1-day Workshop) This seminar takes you through the basics of getting starting with your own business. Different types of businesses will be discussed and how to obtain licenses, set up your recordkeeping, find funding, develop a marketing plan and all the necessary things you need to do when starting a business. Upon completion of the seminar, each participant will have the basic tools needed to start a business.

Microsoft Access Basics Cost: $50 Time: 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Days Offered Each Week: Monday and/or Tuesday (1-day Workshop) This seminar will introduce participants to the following: Terminology, Components of a Database, Creating A Database, Exploring Tables, Viewing Tables, Designing and Creating Tables, The Wizard, Moving Within A Record, Moving From Record to Record, Changing A Table in Design View, Adding A Field to a Table, Renaming a Field to Your Table, Saving a Table, Setting a Data Type, Setting Field Properties, Adding Data to Tables, Deleting Data to Tables, Sorting Records, Exploring Forms, Creating a Form, and Running a Query.

Microsoft Excel Basics Cost: $50 Time: 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Days Offered Each Week: Monday and/or Tuesday (1-day Workshop) This seminar will introduce each participant to the following: Terminology, Closing a Document, Creating Workbooks, Changing Columns Width, Changing Columns Height, Text, Copying Formulas, Spell Checking, Previewing Text, and Printing.

Microsoft PowerPoint Basics Cost: $50 Time: 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Days Offered Each Week: Thursday and/or Friday (1-day Workshop) This seminar will introduce participants to the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint. The final product is a professional slide show introducing your business. Animations, links, integration, images, video, digital cameras, etc. will be introduced.

Microsoft Word Basics Cost: $50 Time: 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Days Offered Each Week: Thursday and/or Friday (1-day Workshop) This seminar will introduce each participant to the following: Creating a New Document, Naming a Document, Saving a Document, Button Bar, Opening a Previous Create Document, Manipulating Text in a Document, Moving with the Mouse, Moving with the Arrow Keys, Moving with the Menu Bar, Selecting Text, Cutting, Moving, Pasting Text, Spell Checking Printing a Document, Formatting Characters in Word, Formatting the Document, Setting Margins, Center/Aligning Margins and Text, Setting Tabs, Changing/Removing Tabs, Bullets and Numbering, and Creating Tables.

Payroll Using Microsoft Excel Cost: $50 Time: 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Days Offered Each Week: Friday (1-day Workshop) Learn how to set up efficient payroll systems and keep accurate records with Microsoft Excel. Excel gives allows you to take control of your company's payroll, including calculating payroll, deducting federal, state and local taxes and creating checks for each employee, and ensuring you have accurate, up-to-date payroll records.

Real Estate - Pre-License (Please call 205.929.6306 for Registration) Cost: $400 (Fees cover textbooks) Monday - Friday Enrollment The Real Estate Certificate Program offers the course work that meets the standards of professionalism in the real estate industry, and at the same time provide needed computer, communication, and math skills that will better prepare you in the field. The program follows the guidelines set by the Alabama Real Estate Commission.
The program meets the career objective of
persons interested in real estate sales or other allied real estate
professions. For students seeking to enter the real estate field, it
offers formal education that meets the industry's goals of
professionalism.

Real Estate - Post-License (Please call 205.929.6306 for Registration) Cost: $249 Monday - Friday Enrollment This Real Estate class take each student through the 30 hours of instruction for post-licensure, and at the same time prepares them for the state exam. The Alabama Real Estate Commission Examination is immediately suggested after the pre-licensure instruction.
