Understanding Nursing Degree Plans--from Practical Nursing to Pre-Nursing to Nursing (See Video Below)

Important Facts You Should Know

Fact #1: You are NOT a nursing major until you are accepted into the program.  You are a PRE-Nursing major first and a College Transfer student.
Fact #2:  Before being accepted into the Nursing program, you are classified as a PRE-Nursing major.
Fact #3:  At Lawson State, Pre-Nursing has been divided into TWO SEPARATE Tracks--Track I and II.
Fact #4:  Track I should be followed by students wishing to take as many credits as possible that will transfer towards a BSN degree.  These students can always make application to Lawson's Nursing Program, but these students want to pursue the Bachelor's of Science degree as well at some time.
Fact #5:  Track II is designed for those students who are wishing to take ONLY the courses that are required for admission into the 2-year RN program

Don't Miss This Video!!!!  Dr. Shelia Marable, Associate Dean of Health Professions, "walks" students through what courses they need to take if they are Pre-Nursing, Nursing and LPN students.  This is a great online advising session.
