About the Library

The mission of the Library is to support the education goals of Lawson State Community College students, faculty, and staff by providing access to a variety of informational resources and promoting the understanding of effective ways to use these resources. Lawson State Community College has two libraries - one on the Birmingham Campus and one the Bessemer Campus.


Research Services


Services are available to help users in selecting appropriate resources, performing database searches, locating materials and evaluating relevant resources for research. Users have access to the following services.


The catalog serves as the library’s primary resource for both print and electronic books, or (eBooks), along with listing other libraries through the State of Alabama.
