If a Federal Financial Aid recipient withdraws before completing 60% of the semester/term, federal regulations require Lawson State to return a prorated amount to the Department of Education. The student will be required to pay all or part of any Financial Aid awarded to them. 

Other  2017-2018 Forms may be required in addition to the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid): for Fall 2017, Spring 2018, and Summer 2018, and any terms or sessions within those time frames. The Department of Education will make the renewal application process available for the 2018-2019 cycle October 1, 2017!

All renewal-eligible applicants will use the Web to reapply for aid because paper Renewal FAFSAs will no longer be printed and mailed. All renewal-eligible applicants can access the Renewal FAFSA on the Web using their Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) to access 2017/2018 information. In order to complete, sign, and submit a 2017-2018 FAFSA or 2018/2019 Renewal FAFSA , students and parents will need to create a FSA Student ID which has replacesdthe Personal Identity Number (PIN).

Each aid applicant who meets the eligibility requirements for a 2018-2019 Renewal FAFSA by October 1, 2017, will be sent a Renewal Reminder e-mail or a Renewal Reminder letter between October 1, 2017 and February 2018. With the elimination of the paper Renewal FAFSA, it is particularly important that renewal-eligible students receive a Renewal Reminder, which informs them that they can use the Web to reapply for aid. The Department encourages students to update their address and e-mail address on their 17/18 SAR to ensure the most current e-mail and mailing address information is present.
