Module I (Phase I): Tegrity to YouTube to Blackboard Training (Archiving and Downloading Your Recorded Tegrity Videos)
Welcome to Phase I (Module 1) Training. After you complete Phase I training, go directly to Phase II/Module II Training (which is designed to teach you how to record using Screencast-O-Matic). The link to Module 2 is below. Module #1 Training is designed to train faculty and staff members on: (1) how to set up a Gmail account: (2) how to set up a YouTube account; (3) how to move their existing Tegrity to YouTube (and archive them); and (4) how to move existing or stored YouTube videos into Blackboard. Follow these steps (below) to get started:
Directions: Watch the videos below to learn how to archive your current Tegrity videos and upload them to YouTube and how to embed YouTube videos in Blackboard.
As part of our transition from Tegrity, complete each step below. Failing to complete this step will mean losing access to all of your previously recorded Tegrity videos. This step must be completed by July 26, 2016. Access to Tegrity videos will end on July 27th, so please use the next month to complete this task.
Step 1: Set up a free Gmail or Google Account.
YouTube interfaces with Gmail (Google). In order to set up a private YouTube Channel to archive your Tegrity videos, you will need to set up a free Gmail (Google) account. If you already have a Gmail account, you can skip this step. If not, go to
www.google.com and set up a private Gmail account. View the video below on setting up a free Gmail account. Contact CTEL for help if needed at
CTEL@lawsonstate.edu.
Step 2: Set up a free YouTube Account
Skip this step if you already have a personal YouTube account.
Now that you have set up your Google or Gmail account, we need you set up a Free YouTube Account. This is an important step, for you will be storing all of your existing Tegrity Vidoes and future screencast videos on YouTube. You will only have to archive your Tegrity videos once. After all of your Tegrity videos are stored on YouTube, they will be safe and access will always be available (24/7). Yes...YouTube and Blackboard do have an interface, so once you begin storing your videos in Blackboard, you will be able to seamlessly embed them in your Blackboard account. View the video below on setting up a free YouTube private account. Contact CTEL for help if needed at CTEL@lawsonstate.edu
Step 3: Update Your YouTube Channel to Upload Longer Videos (Past 15 minutes)
Step 4: Move Your Current Tegrity Videos to YouTube (and Archive Them)
DO NOT SKIP this STEP. Now that you have created a gMail account, it is time to create your own YouTube channel. Watch the video below to create a private channel in YouTube. Again, you will need this to establish a YouTube channel. Complete this step to archive your current Tegrity videos and store them on YouTube. Be sure to set the setting to Private if you are concerned about Public Access to your presentations. Contact CTEL for help if needed at CTEL@lawsonstate.edu

Step 5: Move Your Stored YouTube Videos into Blackboard (as needed)
Beginning July 27, 2016, YouTube will house all Lawson State recorded screencast. Below are two alternatives you can use that will teach you how to move your YouTube video directly into Blackboard. The first video shows you how to use the YouTube Mashup feature within Blackboard. The second video shows you how to embed a video directly from YouTube into Blackboard. View both and use the feature that you are most comfortable with using. Contact CTEL for help if needed at CTEL@lawsonstate.eduEasiest and
(OPTION 1): Fastest Way to Embed YouTube Videos in Your Blackboard Course. Drawback-May have video ads at the end of video.
(OPTION 2): Consider the BEST OPTION. The YouTube Embed Feature. Will allow the uploader the ability to remove ads that can "pop-up" at the end of a video.

Step 6: Move ALL of Your Tegrity Videos to Blackboard by July 26th--No Later. Our Tegrity License expires on July 27th, 2016.
Login Blackboard and begin moving all of your Tegrity videos to YouTube. Remember, Lawson State will no longer be using Tegrity (effective July 27th), so it is important (if you would like to keep your current Tegrity videos) that you move them to Blackboard between now and July 26th.
Be sure to meet this deadline.
Step 7: Complete Module #2--Learn How to Use the New Screencast Recorder and Upload on YouTube
After you archive your Tegrity videos (and store them on YouTube), begin uploading your YouTube videos into Blackboard. Once done with this step, learn how to use Lawson State's preferred screencasting software (Screencast-o-matic). To begin your training, access Module #2 (Phase II) by clicking on the blue icon below.
