Scholars' Bowl Soars!!!  Congratulations!!!!

On January 19, 2018, the Alabama College Bowl League held its annual sectionals tournament, which is the qualifying tournament for the community college national championship, held every March.  Twelve teams from Alabama's Community Colleges competed in the sectionals competition, which was hosted by Bevill State Community College in Jasper.  Trophies are awarded to the top 3 teams, as well as the top 5 individual players who comprise the all-tournament team.  Lawson State's team captain, Shelby Stokes, made the all-tournament team (a first for our team) by placing 4 out of 57 total players.  Other Lawson State team players include Cortice Miles, Frank Gonzalez, Carissa Hope, and Elijah Horton, and all did an excellent job representing Lawson State.  We could not be more proud of them all.

College scholars bowl is a game in which teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge, especially history, literature, science, fine arts, humanities, current events, and popular culture.  College Scholars' Bowl is open to all full-time Lawson State students.  For more information, please contact Mr. Matthew West , LSCC's Scholars' Bowl coach, at
