As a service-oriented organization and student public relations team, the Lawson State Community College Ambassadors provide hours of assistance to the college and the community.  As beacons of Lawson State, the Ambassadors create an image of opportunity, and serve as examples for fellow students, both academically and socially.  In addition, the Ambassadors promote excellence and represent Lawson State with pride at all times.

Congratulations Marney Powell, recipient of the 2011 Magic City Classic Scholarship! Marney was honored on Friday, October 28 at the MCC Scholarship Breakfast. This year’s theme - The Magic City Classic: A Legacy, A Community, An Evolution. In keeping with such a legacy, criteria for the award include full-time matriculation, civic activity and the pursuit of an undergraduate degree. Marney’s stand-out academic achievements and community involvement have been awarded a $1000 scholarship from the African American Business Council of the Birmingham Business Alliance.
