Figuratively, Lawson State Community College is giving the world to its students.  You can help Foundation gifts allow us to continue to attract and support high caliber students.  Many of our students would not be able to attend Lawson State without our scholarships and financial aid packages.  We could not offer these students financial assistance without your help.

Throughout our rich history--which now spans over 50 years.  Lawson State Community College has provided its signature of ensuring a quality education in a highly personalized environment to thousands of students.  We are afforded numerous opportunities to continue the Lawson State tradition.  Investing in our students through education provides a basis for future strength and success.

ABOUT THE LAWSON STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION . . .

The Lawson State Community College Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that raises money toward a permanent endowment for the College.  The foundation seeks to secure non-traditional resources, beyond state and local revenues for Lawson State Community College.  All funds support educational excellence within the institution and guarantee excellence in service to the communities the College serves.  The Foundation generates and administers philanthropic contributions which can be made through cash, securities, mutual funds, real estate and collections such as art, coins, and stamps.  Charitable trusts, life insurance, annuities, and bequests also provide excellent ways of giving a large gift while preserving current income.

Stocks & Bonds

Gifts of appreciated securities can give the donor attractive tax benefits while helping the College.  Let us know and we can arrange a transfer.

Real Estate and Property

Personal residences, vacation homes and commercial property can be suitable to the College's needs and provide tax benefits to the donor.  Call us for information.

Planned Gifts

Provide for the College in your will or trust; turn over a life insurance policy that is no longer needed; or make the College a beneficiary of your retirement plan.  These are only a few of the ways that you can limit your tax liability and help others.

Personal Property

Tangible personal property is a way of giving to the College.  Consider a gift of art, equipment, or automobiles.

A Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund for immediate distribution (within the academic calendar year) may be established with a contribution of any amount.

A Named Annual Scholarship Fund

A named annual scholarship fund (John Doe Scholarship Fund) may be established with a minimum contribution of $500 annually.

An Endowed, Named Scholarship

An endowed, named scholarship (The John Doe Endowed Salute to Excellence Scholarship/Award) in which the principle contribution remains intact and only a portion of the interest income is distributed as scholarship. This is a great way to honor or memorialize a friend or family member and help Lawson State students at the same time.  The endowed level is $5,000, but the fund can be established with a smaller gift.

Donations

Donations of any amount may also be contributed to existing scholarship funds such as memorials funds, alumni scholarship funds or departmental scholarship funds on campus.
