Narrative:
Lawson State Community
College publishes print material that is the main source of information
regarding the College and its programmatic offerings, activities and
services. The major publications used in
recruiting are the Student Catalog and Handbook (LSCC Catalog), Course Schedules (Spring-Schedule-2009), and the College website (LSCC Homepage).
These documents accurately represent Lawson State Community College’s practices
and policies. The Public Relations
Office is responsible for coordinating the publication of these documents and
assists other institutional personnel in the compilation of the documents. A variety of staff members ensure the
accuracy of all information prior to publication of a hard copy or virtual
information. This is achieved through a
series of proofing steps that include a review of the Student Catalog and
Handbook by faculty, staff and administrators.
Corrections are forwarded to the Academic Dean and/or the Dean of
Students.
The recruitment staff
follows an annual recruitment plan and publishes a tactical calendar (Tactical Calendar
08-09) that includes dates for
projected and actual actions or activities for the year. This calendar is used to support the
recruiters and/or admissions functions.
It is also used to coordinate direct mail activities and workflow.
Specific
units/departments also develop and work with the Public Relations Office to
publish documents. These contain
information that accurately represents the institution’s practices and policies. They include Radio and TV Production (Radio and TV
Brochure), Commercial Truck Driving, (CDL Brochure) Residential Housing Services (Residential
Brochure), Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (Air-Condition/Refrigeration Brochure), and scholarships (Scholarship Brochure). These publications are
also available in hardcopy from the departments.
The Public Relations Office also publishes the
President’s Annual Report (President's 2007 Annual Report)
