Narrative:
Lawson State Community College publishes its Student Catalog and Handbook in
print format and on the College website. The academic calendar, grading policies and refund policies
are also in the Handbook. The College publishes its academic Calendars online and term calendars are in
each semester schedule Spring-Schedule-2009.
Both publications are available in the Student Services Office and other
strategic locations on both campuses and are distributed to students and other
constituents. Copies of documents are
mailed upon request.
The College publishes grading policies in the Student Catalog and
Handbook (Student
Catalog pg. 23-25).
These policies are consistent with policy 713.01 (Policy 713.01) on grading from the Alabama State Department of Education
and the Alabama Community College System. Additionally, each faculty member is
required to develop and distribute a course syllabus that outlines the specific
course grading policy and includes the grading scale and method of evaluation
Syllabus.
The
refund policy defines the parameters for issuing refunds. The refund policy is published in the Student
Catalog and Handbook (Catalog pages 31-37). This policy is consistent with the Alabama
State Board of Education (Policy
803.02 Refunds).
