The
institution offers one or more degree programs based on at least 60 semester
credit hours or the equivalent at the associate level; at least 120 semester
credit hours or the equivalent at the baccalaureate level; or at least 30
semester credit hours or the equivalent at the post baccalaureate, graduate, or
professional level. If an institution uses a unit other than semester credit
hours, it provides an explanation for the equivalency. The institution also provides a justification
for all degrees that include fewer than the required number of semester credit

Narrative:
Lawson State Community
College is authorized to offer the Associate in Arts and the Associate in
Science degree programs (A.A./A.S.
Degree Plans). These general studies
areas require a minimum of 60 and a maximum of 64 semester credit hours for
completion. Coursework in these degree
programs are designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year college or
university to pursue baccalaureate degrees.
The College also offers Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S) and Associate in Occupational Technologies (A.O.T.)
degrees with credit hours ranging from 60 to 76
hours depending on the degree. These
programs are designed to prepare students to enter into occupational,
semiprofessional or paraprofessional employment. Certificate programs (full and
short) have credit hours that range from 9 to 60 credit hours for completion.
