General Information
Alabama Virtual Library (AVL)

The Alabama Virtual Library is a statewide cooperative program that supports Equity, Economy and Excellence in Education by providing the following:
·
Online reference materials such as
encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, and almanacs;
·
Full text articles from more than 6,000
journals, magazine, and newspapers;
·
Thousands more citations to articles in
general interest magazines as well as specialized subjects such as history,
literature, business, education, and health; and
·
Information about materials held by Alabama
Libraries so needed items can be borrowed through interlibrary loan.
Students may obtain an AVL card or any passwords from the Circulation Desk by completing a “Patron Information Form”, which will allow them access from home.
Patrons may also access AVL directly from computers on the Lawson State Campus.
