Important ID Policy Information

Please read important ID policy information before applying for admission.  Prior to acceptance, applicants must provide one primary or two secondary forms of identification as per State of Alabama Board of Education Policy 801.01, Admissions General.  Your application for admission can be processed but you cannot be admitted until the information has been received by our Admissions Office. You may mail or present ID documentation at either location (see below).

Your Admission Classification

Please read the information below to help you determine your admission classification or click the link for further criteria or admission information.  Then, begin the application for admission by selecting Method 1 or Method 2.

First Time Freshman A student who has never attended a college or university
Transfer Student A student who has attended another college or university.
Transient Student A degree-seeking student who attends another institution but wishes to attend LSCC for one term.
Re-Admitted Student A student who previously attended LSCC but who has not attended for a period of time or the previous fall or spring terms.
International Student A foreign student who wishes to attend LSCC while in the United States.
Duel Enrollment High School Student A student who is attending high school and wishes to attend LSCC for college and /or high school credit. (You must complete an “Application for Admission” and the “Accelerated/Dual Enrollment High School Student” form.)
Accelerated High School Student

A student who is attending high school and wishes to attend LSCC for college credit. (You must complete an Application for Admission, the Accelerated/Dual Enrollment High School Student form, and other required documents before the term begins.)

Applying for Admission

Method 1 - Print a blank admission application. 

  • Print the application and complete it.

  • Please do not fax applications to our office.

  • Mail or personally deliver the application to either Admissions Office location. 

Method 2 - Submit your application information online.  

  • Carefully follow the instructions provided on each screen.

  • Complete each required field on each page. 

  • Print the application when prompted and mail / deliver it to one of our office locations.  Your signature is required on the on the second page of the application.  Please mail both pages to our office.

  • Please do not fax applications for admission to our office.

Applicants to the Dual Enrollment High School Students Program or the Accelerated High School Program should not apply for admission online (Method 2).  Instead, please print the available online application form using Method 1.

What Happens Next?

Once your ID information, completed / signed application for admission have been received by our office you will receive an acceptance letter or additional admissions correspondence by U.S. mail.  Some programs such as Nursing require additional steps for admission.  See Health Professions  Acceptance letters include pre-registration / registration information for the your intended entry term.  If you seek federal financial aid, please read comprehensive information here.
